We host events a few times a year and often have exciting volunteer opportunities for each one. The next event we’re organizing is listed below, along with the volunteer roles that are still available. If you think you can help in other ways, let us know — we’re always open to new ideas and suggestions.
Trunk or Treat
When: October 30, 2025 at 5 PM – 7 PM

Note: we do have staff that is fully first-aid trained, so if you want to fulfill any of these roles where first-aid is mentioned and do not have first-aid training, please let us know.
Pumpkin Carving Table Attendant
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Monitoring pumpkins that are being carved.
- Making sure that in between carvings all of the guts get swept into a bin. (Rest assured we don’t waste any of the pumpkins after we take pictures of them. They are taken back to Mr. Piggles the pig to minimize waste and aid in his gut health!)
- Organizing participants so that everybody gets a turn.
- Handing out chocolate bars or treats to the table attendees when they are finished carving.
Having first-aid is always a plus! The kids will be using pumpkin carving kits, not knives. A good fit is somebody who enjoys working with children and is organized.
ApplyButton Making Assistant
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Ensuring orderly turn taking.
- Assisting kids with sharing colouring supplies as well as button templates to colour.
- Supporting the button maker operator in getting additional plastic and door backing as required.
- Removing trash and recycling to proper receptacles.
- Handing out candy or chocolate bars to the participants as they complete their turn at the button table.
Minimal risk as this involves colouring and designing. A good fit for this role is somebody who enjoys working with children in a fast paced environment, is capable of helping kids be organized, and can take direction themselves.
ApplyBounce House Attendant
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Monitoring behaviour of children in the bounce house.
- Ensuring there is no horse play or roughhousing in the bounce house.
- Ensuring that an appropriate amount of children are in the bounce house at one time. Capacity of the inflatable will be clarified the day of event. If capacity is reached, five minute intervals in the bounce house will be implemented.
- Handing out candy and treats to children as they complete their turn in the bounce house.
First-aid is a plus. A good volunteer fit would be somebody who enjoys working with kids who is organized and who can deliver instructions to children easily.

- Ability to stay calm in fast-paced situations
A good fit for this role is somebody who likes to be on the go, takes direction easily, handles hectic and fast paced situations, can lift heavy items, and is comfortable bouncing between different jobs.
